#Ruiner at the O: Jump shots don’t age like Bourbon

QIC: Nugget

Pax: Nugget (W), Seabass, Wham! (W), Gillespie, Mr. Clean (W), Scratch (W), Pope, Cutlass

What’s the W for? Relax, you’ll know soon enough

8 of us got together for another fun Saturday at the O. While we were missing some of the main Pax down at St. John’s (for good reason), we were determined to EYB and start the weekend off right. We were gonna have fun doing it at the command of “Coach” Nugget.

We moseyed to the bball courts for a warm up. YHC had to audible due to the blackness of the gloom.

Thang 1: EMOM

The Pax stayed in the circle and EMOM was explained. Every minute on the minute, we would perform the following:

5 Merkins

5 LBCs

10 Squats

Whatever was left of the minute was for mumblechatter and rest. Seems easy, it wasn’t. The minute seems to get shorter as the time wen’t on, but we were all better for it. Plenty of talk about the wonderful UL football team, DC and Tugs Bowen.

Thang 2: Get out the basketball

Coach YHC was now ready to see where we are with our fundamentals with Basketball season fast approaching. (you never know who will need to suit up for UL in the future)

We circled up, all Pax held Al gore, while one Pax dribbled around the circle. As one was passed, one would drop to a burpee. This was performed until all Pax had dribbled around the circle.

Next, we went to the baseline. All Pax would hold plank, while one pax dribbled the length of the court and shot a layup. YHC stated that when made the pax would perform a Merkin and resume plank. Well, my confidence was premature and only 3 of the 8 Pax made the layup (it was dark), so upon a miss the Pax performed 3 burpees.

Free throws were next up. Each Pax would line up and shoot 2 FT. Make both, no running. Make one, sprint up and back. Make none, suicides. Well, I am sorry to say that we ran 7 suicides and one up and back (thanks to Mr. Clean going 50%). At this point, I knew that we weren’t creating the F3 basketball league. At least for now.

Thang 3: Knockout

Well, it was time for some fun and the group had already asked to play knockout (just like my 10 and 11 year olds do) Rules were simple, if knocked out, you do some sort of Mary until a winner was decided. Oh and if Seabass wins, 5 burpees for everyone else. And as that final shot fell through, Seabass knocked off Scratch to sentance us to 5 burpees. We went one more round and Gillespie decided it was time to start making shots.

Finally, we broke off into 2 teams of four and played some full court basketball. Scratch definitely got his revenge on Seabass (gotta pump fake there) and led his team with some defense. While it was a hard fought game, the hot shooting of the winning team (17%) was the deciding factor. (if you want to know who won, look at the top)

We moseyed back to the flag and circled up for Count a rama, Name a rama, and COT. Prayers were said for the family from HT that just lost their father, Butcher and his family, and the group at St. Johns.

Naked Moleskin

I love leading the Pax  and would encourage all who read this to jump in. Today was fun and I am still hurting from it. I appreciate all of the HCs for the burpee challenge. We even had some stay after to get the 24 done today.source.gif
